How to pilot Logentic

Introduce Logentic to your operations team with a focused, time-boxed pilot that generates the data you need to make the case for a full switch.

Introduction

Once you've built internal awareness about Logentic, it's time to get a team working in it. Logentic pilots typically involve one warehouse or one product line and last two to four weeks.

Participating in a pilot gives your team the opportunity to see how Logentic can streamline fulfillment, reduce shipping costs, and provide the inventory visibility they've been missing.

Below, we share how to select the right scope for your pilot, gather the evidence you need, and present a data-backed case for Logentic's speed and savings.

What does "pilot success" look like?

Most teams define success as: the warehouse team finds Logentic faster to use, shipping costs are measurably lower, and inventory accuracy improves compared to the previous system.

The pilot process

1

Pick the warehouse or product line to pilot

Make a list of teams or warehouses eager to try something new and that have influence in the larger organization. The best pilot candidates are teams that:

  • Spend significant time in their current shipping/WMS tool daily
  • Are vocal about pain points with the current system
  • Ship enough volume to generate meaningful comparison data (50+ orders/week minimum)
  • Have a warehouse lead or ops manager willing to champion the pilot

Once you have an ideal team in mind, approach them with a proposed timeline and a plan for either running both systems in parallel or fully switching a subset of orders to Logentic.

2

Create a "before Logentic" baseline

The purpose of this baseline is to gather data on your current operations so you can measure improvement. Focus on these areas:

Shipping costs

  • What is your average shipping cost per order?
  • Are you rate-shopping across carriers today? If so, how?
  • How much do you spend on shipping per month?

Fulfillment speed

  • How many orders per hour does your team currently pick & pack?
  • What is your average order-to-ship time?
  • How often do mispicks or packing errors occur?

Inventory accuracy

  • How often do inventory counts in your system match physical stock?
  • How frequently do you experience stockouts or overselling?
  • How long does your monthly inventory reconciliation take?

Team satisfaction

Run a quick 5-question survey asking your warehouse and ops team to rate their current tools on a 1-5 scale for ease of use, reliability, and speed. You'll compare this with a post-pilot survey.

3

Set up Logentic

Some teams start fresh with the pilot, routing a specific sales channel or product category through Logentic. Others import their full product catalog and process all orders through Logentic for the pilot period.

Contact our team to walk through options for your specific setup. We handle carrier connections, warehouse configuration, and data import -- typically within 3-5 business days.

4

Run your team on Logentic

We provide a short live demo for your warehouse and ops team, plus self-serve training materials. Most teams are fully operational within 1-2 days of onboarding.

During the pilot, our team is available via Slack or email for any questions. We also proactively monitor your account to flag opportunities for optimization.

"My advice for anyone curious about Logentic is to do a pilot. The product sells itself. Our warehouse team immediately felt the difference in speed."

5

Send a post-pilot survey

Reformat the baseline questions from step 2 to focus on the Logentic experience. Leave open text fields for qualitative feedback. Request responses at least a week before your leadership presentation so you have time to compile results.

6

Compile your data and present your case

Leaders rarely have time to sift through anecdotes. Pull out the 4-5 most telling quantitative improvements and put them side-by-side with your baseline. Add an impactful quote to underscore each metric.

For example, a typical summary looks like:

Shipping cost per order-22% vs. baseline
Orders picked per hour+85% vs. baseline
Mispick rate-90% vs. baseline
Team satisfaction (1-5)4.6 vs. 2.8 baseline

FAQs

How long should a pilot last?

We recommend 2-4 weeks. That's enough time to process meaningful order volume while keeping momentum high.

Can we pilot with just one sales channel?

Absolutely. Many teams route only their Shopify orders or only their B2B orders through Logentic during the pilot phase.

What if the pilot doesn't work out?

Your existing systems remain untouched during the pilot. If Logentic isn't the right fit, you simply continue with your current tools.

Is there a cost for the pilot?

Pilots run on a standard Logentic plan. There are no special pilot fees or hidden costs. If you decide not to proceed, you cancel anytime.
