Who wrote this

Logentic. We make one of the tools below, so weigh that. Every rating comes from each company's own public pages, checked in October 2026, and each comparison page lists its sources. If something has changed, tell us and we'll fix it.

What to check

Six questions Canadian brands should ask.

Most WMS guides are written for US brands. These are the things that change when you ship from Canada.

  • Whose carrier rates?

Canada Post and Purolator at discounted rates, not only US carriers. Ask whether the rates are the vendor's or come from your own accounts.
  • A price you can see

A published price, what it includes, and what changes as your volume grows. Quote-only pricing usually means a bigger bill.
  • French for Quebec teams

If your warehouse is in Quebec, check that the app and the support are in French, not just the website.
  • Shipping to the US

Since August 2025 every US parcel needs customs data. Look for HS codes on products, commercial invoices and duties prepaid (DDP).
  • Real warehouse tools

Scanning at pick and pack, receiving, bins, lots and expiry. Inventory sync alone won't stop mis-picks.
  • Time to go live

It ranges from days to 12 weeks. Ask how long, who does the setup, and whether you can run both systems for a while.

Warehouse tools means multi-location stock, barcode scanning, receiving, lot tracking and cycle counts. Partial means some of these, or only on a higher plan or a paid add-on. Discounted Canadian rates means rates the vendor negotiated and includes, not your own carrier accounts.

Which one fits

The right tool depends on how you ship.

  • You only need labels

ShipTime is free and charges per label; ClickShip has a free account with paid add-ons. Both include discounted Canadian rates. Neither manages a warehouse.
  • You're on ShipStation and mostly ship

ShipStation is strong on labels and automation rules. Purchase orders and receiving need Premium, priced by shipment volume, and discounted Canadian rates aren't included.
  • You sell on many marketplaces

Sumtracker syncs stock across Shopify, Amazon, eBay and Etsy from $59 USD/mo, with no shipping labels or pick and pack.
  • You need ERP and accounting depth

Fulfil and Cin7 add purchasing and accounting. Fulfil is quote-only, built for $15M+ brands, with an 8 to 12 week rollout; Cin7 runs $349 to $1,199 USD/mo plus onboarding.
  • You run a 3PL or many sites

ShipHero is a full WMS for brands and 3PLs, priced by quote.
  • You run your own warehouse in Canada

Logentic puts warehouse, inventory, shipping and returns in one app, with discounted Canada Post, Purolator, UPS and FedEx rates, in English and French.

Questions Canadian brands ask

It depends on what you need. If you only print labels, a free Canadian shipping platform like ShipTime or ClickShip may be enough. If you run your own warehouse and want inventory, picking and discounted Canadian shipping in one system, in English and French, Logentic is built for that. Larger multichannel brands with accounting needs often look at Fulfil or Cin7, and brands working with 3PLs at ShipHero.

Shipping software prints labels. A WMS also tells your team where every item is, checks each pick with a scan, and keeps stock right across your channels. Most brands add one when mis-picks, stockouts or a second warehouse start costing more than the software.

Yes. Logentic's app and support are in French and English. For any other tool, check that the app itself is in French, not only the website.

In October 2026, published prices ran from free shipping-only platforms like ShipTime to about $1,100 CAD a month for ShipStation Premium at 3,000 to 5,000 shipments, with ShipHero and Fulfil on quotes. Logentic is $359 USD a month, billed annually, for up to 10,000 orders a month, with discounted shipping rates included.

Since August 29, 2025, the US no longer lets commercial parcels in duty-free under its $800 de minimis rule. Every parcel needs customs data, so look for HS codes on your products and commercial invoices printed with the label.
